The Next-Step Problem
Oct 07, 2026
You already know you need more revenue.
You do not need another person to tell you that.
That is the part that makes me angry on your behalf.
Every webinar, mentor and guru hands you the same useless sentences:
“Focus on revenue.” “Just sell more.” “Get visible.”
As if not knowing the destination was ever the problem. As if you had been sitting there choosing not to grow.
You don’t have a revenue problem.
You have a next-step problem.
You know the direction. Nobody has translated it into the actual move.
Direction without method isn’t motivation. It’s pressure.
It sits on your chest. It makes you busy in five directions at once. You end the week exhausted and no closer, and then decide the problem must be you.
It isn’t you.
You were handed a destination without a map, and told the missing map was your fault.
What a real move looks like
A real move is smaller than you think.
It is named. Numbered. Dated.
Not: “Improve sales.”
Not: “Work on marketing.”
Try this instead:
“By Thursday, I will call the eight clients who bought from me last year and offer them the new service at £X.”
That is a method. It has a person, a number, an offer and a deadline.
You can do it or not do it. But you cannot hide from it.
“Generate revenue” can hide in your task list forever. It is fog.
And fog is where good founders go to feel like failures while working harder than anyone they know.
The three-part move
Name it: State the exact commercial action.
Number it: Define how many calls, proposals, renewals or introductions.
Date it: Put it on a day, not somewhere inside “this quarter.”
This week, delete every goal that sounds like weather: “grow,” “scale,” “be visible,” “sell more.”
Replace each one with a move that has a name, a number and a date.
If another person could not execute it from the sentence you wrote, it is not a move yet. Keep cutting.
The women who grow are not necessarily braver or cleverer.
They stop setting goals shaped like weather and start setting moves shaped like instructions.
⭐ Screenshot the three-part move and pin it where you plan your week.
That is what happens inside Bootstrappers Business Academy: not more direction but method. The next move, and the one after that, until revenue stops being fog and becomes a list you can finish.
You were never lost. You were simply never given the map. Come and get the map.
